Engineering & Engineering Management
Peritus provide engineering across all phases of project development from concept evaluation through Front End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design, PMC, EPCM, construction, commissioning and operations with a strong competence in Concept Evaluation and FEED.
Our projects have included the engineering development of complete deep water fields (>1000 m water depth) from conceptual evaluation through to and including development of the basis of design as well as detailed engineering of specific assets including large deep water trunklines and subsea structures.
Peritus supports Operator and EPC and Installation Contractors teams through the multi-discipline engineering management (including third party review), this includes management of third party engineering contractors and secondment into Operator of execution contractor teams.
Project Management
Project Management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements.
The Peritus Project Management service initiates, plans, executes and closes the project by managing:
- Competing demands with respect to scope, time, cost, risk, health, safety, environment and quality.
- Stakeholders with differing needs and expectations.
- Any identified requirements.
Peritus recruits and trains staff to project manage work in a structured and accountable manner using a comprehensive set of project management procedures and tools to deliver projects from concept selection through operations and maintenance. Risk management procedures and methodologies form part of the Peritus Project Management function.
Procurement & construction management
- Preparation of technical specifications, scopes of work, contract documentation and material requisitions.
- Audit of quality management systems.
- Review of manufacturing, fabrication and inspection procedures for confirmation of compliance with the manufacturing specification.
- Review of method statements and manufacturing procedure specifications (MPS), manufacturing procedure qualification testing (MPQT) and full time attendance during MPQT or first day production
- Full time attendance during production
- Review of installation management systems
- Full time attendance during qualification tests and production start-up
- Full time attendance during start up of each offshore operation (i.e. pipe lay, subsea equipment, floating systems and pre-commissioning / commissioning) and intervention works
Start-up & commissioning
Peritus identifies the commissioning activities required to ensure the safe and correct functioning of subsea systems (trees, manifolds, umbilicals, control systems and transportation systems).
Commissioning procedures are developed to allow start-up of the systems to introduce first hydrocarbons into the transportation system.
Checklists to ensure all pre-commissioning activities are complete and roles and responsibilities for all personnel involved are also developed.
Peritus personnel can perform all activities from planning through supervision.
Operations Support
Peritus provides operations support across it’s six service lines with a particular emphasis on identifying the problem, considering alternatives and proposing fit for purpose solutions that are often not a direct replacement.
Technology Management
Technology is key to making many deepwater and difficult environment projects possible or economic. Peritus provides an in depth knowledge of the latest technology and a structured process to manage its assessment and implementation.
Technology identification and development incorporates ideas generation, screening, qualification, implementation and monitoring.
Core Peritus skill sets of risk and reliability, specialised engineering and the relevant discipline expertise (subsea systems, pipelines, floating structures) are inherent in this process. The figure below illustrates how Peritus manage technology from its idea generation through to operational life assessment feedback and improvement.
Peritus provides subsea system engineering including pipelines, risers, structures, cables, control systems and umbilical design, to the offshore energy industry.
